In much better news, one of the things that more or less made that past year so terible for me has - I'm not going to say vanished, but... got considerably better? Looks as if is going to get considerably better very soon? Just... a ray of light, but you cannot imagine how relieved I suddenly feel.

Anyway, I decided to reward myself - was going to buy TP for Ell, but then I saw that amazon had the complete collection of Lost on blu-ray on sale for only 80€ when usually it's almost twice that much... And I still had amazon vouchers from Christmas. A completely unneccessary thing, but rewatching Lost from the beginning will be awesome, and I only spent 40€ on it, too in the end, when usually one season is that much.

Still getting TP for Ell to spend on wardrobe space, though. \o/

Last week, I had far too much fun following this discussion - especially the recommendations and links posted therein! (It is still my great hope that thanks to the new blood in the fandom which the Hobbit movie will attract, there will be a lot more Tolkien fic along these lines. \o/)

All these wonderful recs even made me read fic in a fandom I'm not even in, but then, that is the joy of AUs. The Revolution Will Not Be Civilzed - Interception fandom, but I don't think you need to know the movie to enjoy this. Of course, it might not be your kink, but I was enjoying this far too much.

The discussion also made me reread an old favorite in the HP fandom: An Eye For An Eye. Yay threesomes. <3

There was lots of wonderful LOTROing yesterday, but I'll be happy if I never have to see the Pits of Iron ever again. But to make up for the hours spent in a cave, there was relaxing at the server's Saturday Night Social afterward, where there was music and dancing and drink. And a fashion intervention for Gwyndir beforehand, so we all looked stunning. :D

So, MEFAs... I still feel guilty that I didn't get around to reviews. But instead of starting the year with even more guilt, I'll rather try to make up for it by leaving more reviews next year (well, this year, really).

I got two honorable mentions, and even though CE was disqualified a few days ago, spiced_wine's nomination and the lovely reviews were truly appreciated! And when I was browsing Tumblr earlier today, I found something even better than an award. I just... I kind of want to print it and frame it and hang it up, lol!

Because you know you're doing something right if people start to draw comics about your stories.

Meh, this was supposed to be a Christmas entry, then I thought I'd write one at least in time for the New Year, and now it's overdue even for that. I'm really sorry for getting no MEFA reviews written this year. At least I managed to take part in Yuletide - not quite as good as the last years, but in addition to my main story in the Swordspoint fandom, I did manage to write a Kushiel treat as well, just in time before the archive opened.

I also got an absolutely amazing story written for me for Yuletide - if you've ever read Carol Berg's Transformation, go and read Trobadora's Dissolution! She has hit exactly all the many many things I love about Aleksander and Seyonne and written an absolutely fantastic AU! It's such wonderful "What If" scenario... What if Seyonne had chosen to stay Aleksander's slave in order to protect him, instead of returning to Ezzaria? She takes one of my favorite tropes and mixes it up with amazing insight into the characters and what makes them work and by the end of it, has me quite convinced that if anyone or anything will ever be able to change Derzhi society, it will be this Aleksander/Seyonne/Lydia triumvirate. \o/ This is exactly what I'd always hoped to read in this (tiny tiny) fandom!


LotRO-wise I got to see Draigoch yesterday for the first time - big dragon is big! O_o But I also got reminded of how much work regular raiding was in WoW. I'm just happy I got to see that dragon once. RP is much more fun. I'll take kittens over dragons any day... :D

So, in case you haven't seen it already, Faerie is all back to normal. \o/ Sorry about this again. It happened of course while my internet was all wonky, and though I had bought an UMTS stick some time ago in case that should ever happen, Vodafone chose exactly that week to do something that killed their internet too. Nothing like poking and cursing your computer for 4 hours straight and thinking about doing a Windows reinstall to make the UMTS stick work again, only to find after those 4 hours that it's Vodafone's fault, not yours...

I managed to sign up for Slashy Santa just before the deadline too, and am doing that last mad rush of Yuletide ficcing today, after taking part in the best in-game wedding event ever in LotRO yesterday. \o/ My Ellonur has also reached the level cap now and when he is not RPing or working on that last bit of rep for his horse collection, he has found out that he enjoys skirmish raids a lot. Oh Celebrimbor, how I wish you would have left more of your worn symbols lying around...

I know the archive is down right now, And I'm really sorry - it's hosted on a webspace package of my dad's and it seems he forgot to pay for the next year of hosting. It hasn't vanished or anything, everything should be back as soon as he has paid for the webspace, though I don't know how quickly that hoster will react then. So, please give it a couple days - I'm really sorry for this trouble. Especially as when I put that archive online it was in reaction to LoTRFF vanishing, and I'm feeling really guilty that it might look similar now.

My internet is wonky too right now, so I'm posting this from my phone. I just want to assure you that the stories are safe and once it's back it should be the way it was. Sorry again for all this trouble!

I wanted to do a quick trip into the city today to stock up on stuff I can't get at the nearby stores like rice vinegar and so on, but then the weather was so awesome I just spent time with my Kindle in the sun, continuing to read Pat Rothfuss's "The Wise Man's Fear". Still not through with it because a) the weather has been terribly cold until today, so no sitting outside, and b) too much LotRO. Which I adore, so I'm not really complaining. The continuing saga of Ellonur, Bainith, Gwyndir and Eledu keeps eating my time and makes me go to bed at terrible hours so that I have to nap after work. But it is so worth it. \o/ Ell has meanwhile left his kinship, the Children of Arda, to join Eledu's Something Awesome and share their huge kinhouse with Bainith and Gwyndir and Eledu which was pretty much perfection until there was ring-lore and other things interfering. Of course, what would life be without drama? :D

I finally caught up on season 5 of The Guild yesterday, which I had so looked forward to but then was disappointed by, despite guest appearances by Neil Gaiman, Nathan Fillion etc., because - no Fawkes! D: And I'm a die-hard Codex/Fawkes shipper - my most beloved het OTP! <3

But then, there was episode 9, and now I'm in heaven again!

Cut for spoilers in case anyone on my flist watches The Guild. If you are even the least bit into gaming or MMOs, you really, really should, and not only because Wil Wheaton is hot in a kilt!

Ohh, this is going VERY well! \o/

I knew I'd enjoy today's day of writing because all that was left was the smutty part, and if you've set the characters up right, for me that's always the easiest and most fun part to write - but this is going even better than I hoped.

Of course, the request was awesome too. Yay for a challenge where for once I don't feel as if I'm writing the worst story in the history of fandom! \o/

Getting there, slowly but surely! Also it's weekend! \o/ Which means that I have all day to write tomorrow. I'm also not hating the story yet, which is a welcome experience. Only one day of writing left, and then I get to look forward to the reveal, yay.

Today was the hottest day here so far this year, I think - 30°C. And of course, as soon as I wanted to go and read in the sun for an hour after work, the sun vanished and a thunderstorm arrived. At least it's a bit colder now, but it's going to be cold and rainy again for the next few days, and I'm so sick of that.

I finished my current book yesterday - N.K. Jemisin - The Broken Kingdoms which was ♥, currently I've begun Patrick Rothfuss's The Wise Man's Fear. I really need to update my list of read books, but after the excitement of the day I'm ready to relax with some cold Sangria and do some Forochel-ing in LotRO to round off my day. Tomorrow I'll WRITE ALL DAY to finish the story if I have to!

Ellonur wiped his mouth, wishing he had thought to bring a few bottles of Dorwinion red home with him. Not that he did not appreciate ale as well, but if there ever was an occasion to drink himself senseless with a fine Dorwinion, certainly it was today.

Strange that he should feel so miserable about losing someone who had never been his, but then, there had been something to Bainith that had drawn him helplessly in.
